Weekday Friends vs Weekend Friends

I have a question for you, who do you spend more time with, weekday friends or weekends friends? Lately I've noticed more people are spending their time with their weekday friends, I wonder why? Maybe it's because it's more financially beneficial, it's more convenient, but it makes it harder to spend time with the friends who really matter, the weekend friends.

Weekend friends are at a premium as you get older. How many friends do you have that aren’t work related? The tendency is a lot of times you go out with people that you work with; you go to lunch, you get drinks after work, you go out with your kid’s friend’s parents.

Your weekend friends are the type of people that you can do anything with. You can call them any time of the night, you can go on vacation with them. It could be 30 days, weeks, years that you haven’t seen them but it feels like it was only yesterday. Those are the people that you are connected to for all the right reasons. Weekday friends, you’re connected to by desks, school districts, where your apartment is. Your weekend friends are almost like an extended family.

How does a weekday friend become a weekend friend? I think it can happen, but it doesn’t happen accidentally.

What do you think? Let me know.
